While I might not be consistent with a lot of things, including blogging, I have managed to take family photos every year since, well, we got engaged. This year is no different.
If at all possible, I try to schedule our family photos in a different location. I think it’s fun to change it up and also gives us something to always remember the trip. In the past we’ve done California, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Florida and, of course, Dallas. This year my birthday (40…ahem) is on Thanksgiving, so, instead of sticking around here, we’ve decided to pack it up and head to the Bahamas for the week.
I’m a visual person, so I need to see outfits put together before I make my purchases. This year, I centered both looks around my dress because I read somewhere that if the mom is comfortable, the rest of the family will follow suit in the photos (which I like to believe is true)! I came up with two different options…
The first option definitely has an island vibe to it and is not holiday-ish at all. But, hey, we are going to be on an island so why not go with it?!
The second option is definitely safer. We will also wear all of these items time and time again, regardless of our location. The dress was a bit of an investment, but I plan to wear this to multiple events over at least the next year. I also might have used my big number birthday as an excuse to also indulge.
Can you guess which one I went with? I’m bringing along both looks on our trip, but I’ll save the final selection to share after the photos!
